The Labour Department, Govt. of Puducherry on September 24, 2026, notified regarding the Paid Holiday on October 06, 2026, for Bye-Election Polling Day.
The notification directs all factories, industries, shops and other commercial and industrial establishments in the Union Territory to grant a paid holiday on October 6, 2026 (Tuesday) to employees/workers who are registered as electors in the 09-Thattanchavady Assembly Constituency, to enable them to exercise their franchise in the bye-election. The holiday applies to employees working on a shift basis as well. No deduction or reduction in wages can be made on account of the paid holiday.
